Join Mrs. King at Chik-fil-A

On Thursday night Mrs. King will be serving up your favorite Chik-fil-A meal from 5:30-7:00 pm. This is our last Chik-fil-A school night and we want to make it the best! Some of you might remember Mrs. King behind the counter last year...Mrs. Brooks and Mrs. Berry will be there, too!

The class with the highest participation will win an ice cream party and the classroom teacher will win a $25 gift certificate! We hope to see you there.

Today the "Monks" spent some task time learning how to play Quiddler. We looked closely and realized the letters were Illuminations, like we had been discussing and creating in class.  Mrs. King has been out sick since last Friday. Boo! She misses the kiddoes and hopes to be back on Wednesday. For those of you she won't see until after Spring Break have a wonderful time, make lots of memories, and bring back a story to share! Be safe!

Here are two online links to continue your thinking with Quote Falls. Let me know if you try one and how you do! This is a great puzzle for all ages. The younger kiddoes might need some extra nudging. Help with strategies. For example, find all the one and two letter words first. Have fun working with words instead of numbers for a bit!

Silly Limericks

Today we spent some time connecting snakes and St. Patrick's day by learning the mythical story of St. Patrick driving snakes out of Ireland and the scientific thinking about why snakes don't inhabit Ireland. Of course, visiting Ireland led us to talking about limericks. The children enjoyed giggles as we shared some very silly limericks before trying out our own. Use this space to post your snake species limerick...or any other limerick you might want to write. Enjoy the link about limericks, too!
