Weekly Overview... Check out what we are learning this week!

  •   Reading/Writing : We are working on reading informational text as well as real world comprehension (advertisiments, newspapers, movie listing, etc.)  Our reading skill focus is finding facts and making inferences.  In writing we are also focusing on informational text.  We are currently reseaching an animal; focusing on the physical characteristics, habitat, and diet on the animal. We will be using this information to write a five paragraph paper (introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion).  Please continue to encourage your child to read 20 minutes each night. Six Flags reading logs are due Wednesday, Feb. 1st (6 hours of reading to earn a free ticket to Six Flags). Remember, each student is responsible for reading 25 books this year. Students should have their chapter book at school every day.
