Summer Activities for Speech, Fluency and Language
Summer is fast approaching so we thought it would be a great idea to set up some materials for you to use with your child to practice his or her goals. All you need is a calendar to mark off the days you did an activity.

If your child is working on language based goals and objectives you have a lot of fun opportunities to help build language skills.
1. Get a souvenier such as a napkin, paper menu, pamphlet, flyer, etc from places you visit and have your child create a scrap book for the summer. This will help your child not only remember the events but also, use vocabulary associated with experience and give your child a visual to help him/her retell what they did in an organized and sequential manner.
2. Take digital pictures of things you have done together, or even just saw out the front window and have your child talk about the picture in detail providing as much specific vocabulary as possible.
3. In the middle of a movie or tv program, hit mute and have your child tell you what they think will happen next OR why they feel something had just occurred.
