MATH-Keep practicing those multiplication facts. Don't forget to access our textbook website (www.eharcourtschool.com) for practice and games.  User names and passwords were sent home.

READING/LANGUAGE ARTS-We'll be reading "Lon Po Po" this week. We're still working on pronouns in English.

SOCIAL STUDIES-We're continuing our unit on Native Americans.

We're looking forward to our field trip to the Vulcan Rock Quarry on Friday, November 30th. Don't forget your sack lunches.

Week of November 12, 2007

Reading/Language Arts-We'll be reading "Centerfield Ballhawk" this week. Our English skill, is subject pronouns. Because of Science Day on Thursday this week, our spelling test will be on Friday, 11/16.

Math-Continue practicing those multiplication facts! Be sure to go online at www.eharcourtschool.com for textbook access, games and practice activities. Student's passwords and logins were send home in their Thursday folder. This is a great math resource!

  • Don't forget Science Day will be Thursday, 11/15. We won't have a station in our classroom, so if parents would like to join us, you may rotate with our class. This is fun-filled day all about Science. Don't miss it!
  • Please send in the signed permission slip for our in-school field trip program, "Heat, Energy and Me!", on January 31st. The cost is $8.00. We need the permission slips and money in before the holiday to ensure payment.

Week of October 29, 2007

Math-We're continuing with Chapter 8 and multiplication. Be sure to study those multiplication facts!

Reading/Language Arts-We're reading "City Green" this week. Our English skill is singular and plural pronouns.

Please sign and return the blue Inclement Weather form and the Vulcan Rock Quarry permission slip if you haven't. The cost of the trip is $2.50.

Week of October 22, 2007

Math-We're beginning our new unit on Multiplication and Division with Chapter 5. Be sure to practice math facts!

Reading/Language Arts-We're at the end of Unit 2 in our Reading text, so we won't be reading a new story this week. We'll have review Spelling words this week and be reviewing singular/plural nouns and possessive nouns in English.

Science- We're beginning Chapter 3 on Soil in our Science textbook. This is a short chapter that follows up our Rocks and Minerals unit. I'm so proud of the grades on the Rocks and Minerals test! Way to go guys!

Please send in the signed permission slip for our field trip to the Vulcan Rock Quarry on Nov. 30th. Please remember to check at the top whether your child will buy lunch here at school or will bring a lunch from home. This is a fun hands-on field trip that 3rd graders enjoy!

Week of October 15, 2007

Math-My Math class is beginning Chapter 5, Use Money this week. Remember that our daily assignment is a review of the day's lesson from the textbook we did in class.Be sure to have students counting money whenever possible.

Reading/Language Arts-Our story this week is "My Name is Maria Isabel". Our English skill is plural possessive pronouns.

Science-Don't forget our Rocks and Minerals test is Tuesday, 10/12! Be sure to study your study guide and review all vocabulary words from Chapter 1.

Wednesday, October 17th is Early Release day. Please be sure students know how they're getting home that day. Chic-fil-a biscuits are back on Fridays for $2.50. Look for Jump Rope for Heart information in Thursday folders. This is a fun way for students to raise money for a good cause!
