*You received the CRCT practice web-site and password for your child during Conference Week.  Please make sure they are completing a few practice tests as part of their daily routine.

*I hope everyone enjoyed their time off on Monday and Tuesday.

Math~We will be working with angles (identifying and measuring) and quadrilaterals over the next two weeks.  I am very impressed with how well everyone caught on to division.  Please continue to study multiplication and division facts.  We don't want to "lose" what we've learned.

Science~Students will start a new unit with Mrs. Allen next week.  This will be our last rotation for Science this year.

Social Studies~We will take our Chapter 3 test on Monday the 12th and start Chapter 4 on Tuesday. Everyone has a study guide.

October 1-5

October already?  I am looking forward to cooler weather!!

Notes..........................

*Please sign and return Performing Arts permission slips ASAP.  We need these in order for the students to attend performances on early release days!

*Please remember that we only have healthy snacks for our break.

Math-Wow!  We are working on Multiplication and Division.  I know this is tough.  Please have your child complete their homework the best they can, but please do not do it for them.  Homework helps me to see who is "getting it" and who still needs help.

Social Studies guides due on Wednesday. We will review on Thursday and test on Friday.  This is a big one!  Please have your child study a little each night.

Science- Students are still working with Ms. Dempsey on Force and Motion.

Reading logs and Specials schedule went home today.  Your child should be reading for 20 minutes daily.  Please make sure they keep up with their log.

We are also covering plural nouns and homophones this week as well as working on our narratives.

Please mark the date.  Oct. 26th we want to invite you to come in for "Poetry with Parents."  We would like to share our poems that we have been working on with you!  Hope you can come.  More details to follow.

Have a great week!

September 20th

Progress reports went home today with students who are receiving  a C or below in any subject area.  If your child did not receive a progress report, they are making satisfactory progress at this time.

Map in a Month projects are due October 1st.  I can't wait to see the creativity that was put into the projects.  We will share them with the class the week of the 1st and hang them in the hall for all to see!

Please make sure your child is studying their multiplication facts.  Flashcards are a great way to study.  Your child should be able to finish @100 problems in under 5 minutes.  Practice makes perfect!!

We started our Force and Motion unit with Ms. Dempsey this week.  The unit will last 4 weeks.

Explorers is our theme for Social Studies.  Ask your child to tell you all about The Vikings, Balboa, Marco Polo and Columbus (to name a few).  They should be full of information!!

Poetry is in the air.  We are working on writing our own poems and hope to share them with you in a few weeks.  The class is full of creativity, and I have enjoyed listening to their creations.

Is your child reading daily?  They may use their Social Studies or guided reading books as part of their nightly reading on their reading log.  I still have a few students who did not turn in their reading logs.

Birthday treat update!  We are more than happy to have your child bring in a treat for their birthday, however, the students cannot pass out the treats themself. Treats need to be passed out by the parent (or the teacher). Also, we cannot pass out extra treats to friends at other tables.  Thanks for understanding.

Attendance has been close to perfect.  Thank you for having your child here on time!!

Enjoy the end of September!!!!!!!!!
