I hope all of you have an enjoyable summer, and I'll see you in August!
This was the last week of classroom guidance lessons for the school year. Fourth grade students reviewed their personal and academic goals that were set earlier in the year, and discussed future goals. Students also discussed guidance lessons that were taught this year, and suggested ideas for fifth grade lessons.
First grade students learned about jobs and careers this week. They enjoyed listening to a story called "Pig Pig Gets a Job" by David McPhail. Students also participated in an activity in which they matched pictures of careers with items that the person might use as part of their work. At the conclusion of the lesson, first graders had the opportunity to work with a partner and share career information that they learned with the class.
During these 2 weeks, I will be assisting with the CRCT. I will begin teaching classroom guidance lessons, again, during the week of May 5.
I hope you had an enjoyable Spring Break!
This week during fourth grade guidance lessons, we reviewed some test taking strategies in preparation for the CRCT next week. Students participated in a game to help them learn useful tips for taking different types of tests.
I hope you have a wonderful Spring Break! Enjoy the time with your family and friends!
During first grade guidance lessons this week, students learned some ways to be better test takers, in preparation for the upcoming CRCT.
